Back in the Saddle Again
Things I've learned today: * My bike wasn't in nearly as bad shape as I'd thought. A little scrubbing and most of the rust came right off * if you don't use a combination lock for six months, you're in danger of forgetting the combination. * The little half-assed bike shop on the Minuteman Trail still keeps utterly unreliable hours. * the mullberries at Alewife are now ripe. * I've already missed the time of year when you can watch the turtles basking in Alewife Pond; the knotweed is too tall for them to be visible now. This is particularly disappointing because others have had such close encounters lately. * iM'ing while walking is much easier than IM'ing while biking. * the generic little Indian-run convenience store in Davis Square has the Priya brand ginger pickle that I've been searching vainly for for almost two years after Shalimar stopped carrying it. Giddy with excitement, I took advantage of their buy-two-get-one-free offer. That should be enough to hold me for a couple years.

i think i may need to make a ginger-pickle field trip...
ah HA! by redbeard:
The pickle is back! After your waxing rhapsodic about it, would you mind terribly picking up a bottle for me to snag the next time I'm through town? I'm quite curious!
